Multi-modal, multi-fractal boundary encoding in object-based image compression

Summary form only given. This paper describes an enhanced boundary coding technique for object-based image compression. Called M3F, it features four modes: direct representation for accuracy; codebook based multiresolution coding; efficient multifractal encoding and; multiresolution fractal-based representation
