Crosstalk Force Analysis for Optical Pickup Actuator Systems

When the optical pickup actuator moves, crosstalk force will be generated due to the non-uniformity of the spatial magnetic field, which will consequently affect the dynamic performance of the servo system in optical storage systems. In this paper, the spatial magnetic field model of the actuator is established and the concept of crosstalk degree in both tracking and focusing directions are defined. The relationship between the crosstalk degree and the structure parameters of the actuator such as the height, width and length of the permanent magnet are further analyzed, based on which the optimal structure parameters of the actuator are obtained.
