A 1V 2.4GHz Down Conversion Folded Mixer

A CMOS down-conversion folded mixer for RF applications is presented. The proposed mixer is composed of a transconductance stage, folded switching stages and impedance matching circuits. This topology proves to be suitable for the use in an RF front-end with low voltage, low noise figure, and high conversion gain. With an input 2.4GHz RF signal of -40dBm driven by a 2.3GHz LO signal of 0dBm, the mixer shows good performance in both noise figure and conversion gain. The conversion gain and the noise figure are 10.1dB and 8.558dB, respectively. The proposed mixer is designed with tsmc 0.18mum 2P6M CMOS process. The size of the mixer is 1.38mm times 1.38mm. The power consumption of the mixer is 12.5mW which powered by a 1V supply
