Method for managing metadata

A method for managing metadata is provided to perform certification of metadata in a metadata container level, thereby performing certification in a transmission level regardless of channel environment and reducing system complexity by reducing the number of transmitted packets. A method for managing metadata comprises the following steps of: reading predetermined fragment data among received metadata and data format information indicating fragment data type and metadata relation information(610); generating metadata relation information using data format information corresponded to the read fragment data(620-630); and determining certification of received metadata by comparing the generated metadata relation information with the received metadata relation information(640).
