Event Based Semantic Location Model in Cooperative Mobile Computing

Analyzing existing location modeling, this paper addresses location issues in ubiquitous mobile computing and presents a semantic location model, which introduces query and context semantics into this user-centered model, to support context-awareness based cooperative mobile event. An event-reasoning mechanism, based on semantic matching, is established to recognize and make use of semantics. A natural language query is defined and a prototype has been discussed as a scenario for evaluation of the location model, which solves the puzzling problem of the conversion from linguistics to semantics, and then to pragmatics. The aim of our research is to investigate some essential issues on a suitable semantic pattern applicable to cooperative mobile computing.
