Upper and lower bound analysis of the OFDM system impaired by CFO over slow fading channels

Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) plays a main role in degrading the performance of the OFDM system. It destroys the orthogonality between the subcarriers and induces Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI). Closed form expression for the power of ICI is obtained over slow fading channels. The upper bound and lower bounds for the mean and variance of the desired signal is calculated over Rayleigh, Weibull and Nakagami fading channels and the results are tabulated. Numerical results are drawn for the power of ICI, the mean and variance of the desired signal under various fading situations.
