Multilevel PWM methods based on control degrees of freedom combination and its theoretical analysis

Three kinds of novel PWM methods for multilevel inverters are researched theoretically in the paper, which utilizes vertical offsets among carriers of the CFD (control freedom dimension) and horizontal offsets among carriers of the CFD. Harmonic components of the proposed PWM algorithms can be calculated with the double Fourier analysis. According to the calculation results, analytical spectra and the harmonic characteristics are presented. Comparisons are made to help the comprehension.
