Chemical oxidants in air of Northern Greece in relation to meteorological and solar flux conditions

Abstract Spectrophotometric and solar photometric measurements of solar UV and visible radiation are used to obtain estimates of total columnar amounts of SO2, O3 and NO2 over major Thessaloniki. Routine measurements of these gases as well as of total oxidants/ozone, are grouped under representative meteorological and solar flux conditions. The diurnal and seasonal variability of air pollutants in this part of Greece and their causes are discussed.
