Safety Evaluation Index System of Harbor-shaped Bus Station Based on Experimental Data

The Safety Evaluation index system helps management identity potential safety hazards. Compared with the sound index system for road safety evaluation, bus station safety evaluation needs further elaboration. This study analyzes the influences of traffic participants, roadway characteristics, and traffic flow characteristics on the safety of a harbor-shaped bus station, and carries out 14 groups’ experiments. These experiments were performed at a typical harbor-shaped bus station in Wuhan, China. Based on this data, the correlation analyzed the passenger-bus conflict number, the vehicle-bus conflict number, the non-motorized vehicle-bus conflict number, and the number of waiting people was carried out. Then, the safety evaluation index system of harbor-shaped bus stations was proposed in view of high correlation vehicle factors and some road static factors.
