Three-dimensional Differences in the Polychromatic Responses of Non-uniform Transmission Filters and Equivalent Pupils

Abstract The transverse and axial polychromatic responses of an aberration-free system with some transmission filters is compared with equivalent binary pupils. Apodizing and hyper-resolving filters are compared with reduced uniform pupils and annular pupils respectively.
