Traffic Monitoring System

The invention provides a traffic monitoring system which comprises a vehicle-mounted terminal device arranged on a vehicle, road monitoring devices arranged at the side of a road and a traffic monitoring center connected with the road monitoring devices. The vehicle-mounted terminal device is stored with identity codes of a vehicle. Each road monitoring device is internally stored with position information. The traffic monitoring center is stored with three-dimensional diagrams of various vehicle models and three-dimensional diagrams of roads. The vehicle-mounted terminal device and the road monitoring devices are communicated through an infrared transmit-receive device. When the vehicle passes through a road section equipped with the road monitoring device, the vehicle-mounted terminal device sends the identity codes of the vehicle to the road monitoring device, and meanwhile, the road monitoring device calculates positioning information of the vehicle and transmits the received identity codes of the vehicle and the positioning information calculated by the road monitoring device to the traffic monitoring center; and the traffic monitoring center carries out processing on the received data and calling the stored information to form a three-dimensional picture of the road so as to carry out three-dimensional picture monitoring on the road condition.
