A Block Based Watermarking Technique for MPEG2 Signals: Optimization and Validation on Real Digital TV Distribution Links

This paper presents a block based spatial watermarking method. The main interest of this method is that it attempts to realize a good compromise between robustness performance, quality of the embedding and computational cost. This method is based on elementary perceptual criteria and adapts the embedding with regards to the content of the blocks. The main interest of this paper is that this method has been optimized by numerous tests in real conditions and simulations. The quality of the embedding has been optimized after being submitted to professionals of the production. The paper ends with results from these tests concerning robustness towards lossy compression and invisibility of the watermark.
