Asynchronous reliable multicast protocol in vehicular ad hoc networks

The paper presents an asynchronous reliable multicast protocol in vehicular ad hoc networks VANETs. It is a time free reliable multicast protocol that ensures integrity, validity and agreement properties of message delivery to all members of a group of cars. In particular; there is a need for reliable multicast in which any message transmitted is either received by all members of a group or by none of them. The asynchronous reliable multicast protocol guarantees reliable delivery of messages in presence of omission failure and crash failure of some cars independently of timeliness properties of the system, and even in the presence of timing errors in the environment. Asynchronous reliable multicast service is very necessary in VANETs particularly, because of cars mobility model and speed which may break communication links between cars.
