A large number of institutions of higher education have banded together in a group called Society for Information TechnologyEducation (SITE). This group has made significant progress in defining the curriculum for the new academic field of Information Technology. Additionally, this group has helped to clarify the relationship between Information Technology and more established computer-related disciplines such as Computer Science, Information Systems, and Computer Engineering. The results of this group in curriculum definition and clarifying the relationship are presented in this paper.
