Connected Designs with the Minimum Number of Experimental Units

This paper discusses the minimum number of experimental units for a usual block design to be connected, when the number of treatments and the number of blocks are given. Block designs having such minimum number are characterized and constructed. For some available classes of block designs, the same problem is treated.
