Sampling schemes for reconstruction of multidimensional signals from multiple level threshold crossing

Two intermediate sampling schemes are developed which bridge the gap between Nyquist sampling and one-level crossing representation by enabling signals to be recovered from multiple-level threshold crossings. To this end, semi-implicit and implicit sampling strategies and their corresponding reconstruction algorithms are derived. A preliminary investigation of the quantization characteristics of some of the proposed sampling and reconstruction schemes, is included.<<ETX>>
