Developing technologies and key problems of inverse synthetic aperture lidar

As an innovation and development of the imaging radar system,inverse synthetic aperture lidar is creative combiner of the ISAR and lidar technology.Because of many advantages in imaging and application prospect in the military and civil area,the technology of inverse synthetic aperture lidar is becoming research hotspot.The development and actuality of inverse synthetic aperture lidar are described combining several foreign typical systems.Compared with the microwave ISAR,the technology superiority and bottle-neck are theoretically analyzed.As the inverse synthetic aperture lidar works at short wavelength,the advantages of high azimuth resolution and short coherent accumulation time are easily obtained.On the other hand,the more frequency shift of Doppler makes the phase correction of motion compensation for the ISAR become difficult.Finally,the existed problems of the developing inverse synthetic aperture lidar,such as frequency stability problem of the laser source,heterodyne detection,motion compensation and atmosphere compensation are well discussed.The results in this paper will be helpful in promoting further researches on inverse synthetic aperture lidar.
