Survival of 51Cr-labelled autologous and isologous platelets as differential diagnostic aid in thrombocytopenic states.

In 5 cases of hereditary thrombocytopathic thrombocytopenia, autologous platelets had a much shorter survival time than had isologous platelets. In 10 cases of acquired thrombocytopenia the survival of autologous and isologous platelets was almost identical. This different behaviours of autologous and isologous platelets thus seem to be specific for hereditary thrombocytopathias.
