Micro-Doppler Signature Feature Analysis in Terahertz Band

Micro-Doppler motion of targets is an important characteristic in radar observation, which has already been applied to many aspects of radar research, such as radar imaging, target recognition, etc. The micro-Doppler effect will be more visible under terahertz radar system because of the higher frequency and wider bandwidth it offers. In this paper, we perform a theoretical analysis of typical micro motion forms to establish the micro-Doppler signature model first, and then compare the micro-Doppler effect in terahertz band and that in X band by using joint time-frequency analysis method. The result of the simulations proves the validity of the theoretical analysis, which can provide theoretical foundations for further research on high-resolution radar image in the terahertz band.
