Curriculum in systems engineering

The need for the creation and development of a new curriculum in Systems Engineering, to satisfy the needs of the modern society, is argued and motivated. An outline of some basic features to be included in the curriculum is presented. This includes: development of environmental awareness of the engineer, acquisition of ft socio-economic background, strengthening of tho mathematical and computational background and development of systems analysis courses. Recent work performed at H.P.I, of Connecticut, in this area, is discussed.
