Estimating Seedling Survival from Wind Erosion Parameters
暂无分享,去创建一个
ABSTRACT r« HE survival of seedling crops ex-X posed to simulated wind erosion was related to the estimated total kinetic effect (TKe) of the storm. Southern peas can withstand five times more sand injury than carrots and about three times more than cotton. The TKe method used to evaluate seedling crop survival may be used to determine the protection from injury needed to insure survival. Increasing sand flux rate from 0 to 0.25 g/cm width/sec and exposure time from 5 to 20 minutes reduced seedling survival more than increasing wind velocity from 1,000 to 1,500 cm/sec.
