Detection algorithm for spatial modulation system under unconstrained channel

Detection algorithm for spatial modulation MIMO system was investigated. To deal with the constraint of the existing method, a modified detection algorithm based on normalized maximum ratio combination (NMRC) was proposed, which can be used in unconstrained channel. To further improve the performance, a new algorithm based on the antenna index list (AI-List) was also proposed. Analysis and simulation results show that NMRC detection can work efficiently with very low complexity, and AI-List scheme can achieve near optimum performance when the list number equals to half of the transmit antennas, what's more its complexity is far less than the ML detection and only about 40% higher than NMRC.
