mSCTP vertical handover in the overlap of heterogeneous wireless networks

In this paper we discuss the handover control of mobile Stream Control Transmission Protocol (mSCTP) for the overlap of heterogeneous wireless/mobile networks, and propose a new control scheme, which is based on mSCTP over MIP location management. By this scheme, the throughput performance could be improved when MN moves in overlapping region for a long time. Because the selected network environment is also the common situation, it may make the improvement to some common transmission performance. By ns-2 simulation, the proposed scheme is compared with the existing ones in some perspectives. From the numerical results, we can see that the proposed handover control scheme could give the better performance than the existing ones.
