Review for the Engineering Recommendation G5/4 by Electricity Association in the UK

Harmonic standard in power system is one of the most important standards of power quality. The Engineering Recommendation G5/3, namely the Limits for harmonics in the United Kingdom electricity supply system, had vastly impacts many national harmonic standards in the world, including national standard in China. Here, firstly the Engineering Recommendation G5/4 published by Electricity Association in February 2001, i.e., Planning Levels for harmonic voltage distortion and the connection of non-linear equipment to transmission systems and distribution networks in the United Kingdom, is reviewed. It will be available for reference to the revisal for national harmonic standard GB/T14549-1993 entitled Quality of electric energy supply- Harmonics in public supply network.
