Map integration—update propagation in a multi-source environment

We ore building a prototype of a Map Zntegmtor. One of the long term goals of the Map Zntegmtor is to reduce the need for operator intervention in update opemtions between related objects in different databases. This paper deak with a first trial of the Map Zntegmtor on building objectsfmm two independently surveyed and maintained topographic databases. Centml to the issue of update propagation is certainty of equivalence of different object representations. We developed a six step stmtegy forfinding equiualent or corresponding objects, and for processing and propagating updates. Aggregation and genemlization issues of updated objects are also discussed.
