A Method Based on Rough Sets to Assess Significance of Factors Influencing Navigation Safety in Harbor Waters

The rough sets theory is applied in this paper to assess the significance of factors influencing the safety of ship navigation in harbor waters. Following the accidents analysis, the main factors are extracted and the decision table is also presented. With the RSES software and data collected from Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) of China, the whole procedure of calculating importance values are illustrated.
