Homosexuality : a psychoanalytic study

seriously disrupting the context of reading. On the other hand, if one reads the appendix after having read the main text, it is usually an impossible task to get the meaning from the appended notes without turning back to the point of reference in the original text, and there is no way in which this can be done except by an exasperating page-by-page search for the reference numbers. Further, the material in the appendix does not in most instances add significantly to the subject of the text. It would be much better at those points where it does add if the material had been incorporated into the text instead of appended to it. An appendectomy would be well advised. R. Hugh Dickinson, M.D.
