A distributed solution for economic dispatch problem in finite time

The economic dispatch problem for smart grid, which aims to meet the active power demand while minimizing the total generation cost, is discussed in this paper. We proposed an algorithm that solves the economic dispatch problem in finite time in a distributed way. This brings some advantages such as plug-and-play feature and online fast dispatch property. Several case studies including IEEE 30-bus power system are discussed and tested to validate the proposed method.
