Reliability of Wind Turbine in China Under the Rapid Development of Wind Power

In recent years wind power is developed rapidly all over the world.In 2009 the newly installed capacity in China ranked number one,and the total capacity took the second place in the world.However,the normal working hours of wind turbines and the amount of power generating capacity are out of proportion and far below the world average.Therefore,study on reliability of wind turbines is necessary for improving reliability of wind turbines and reducing failure rates and maintenance costs.This paper introduces the overall situation of wind power development both at home and abroad,and discusses the theory of reliability of wind turbines and methods for improving reliability.
