In this paper, an experimental study was conducted on domestic air-conditioner refrigeration system to increase the system energy efficiency ratio (EER). First, different types of high efficiency compressors were tested and selected. Second, inner-grooved copper tubes which had fins with hydrophilic membrane, together with the indoor and outdoor helical fans were employed to improve the heat convection efficiency. Third, the relationship between capillary's optimum length and refrigerant charge quantity was confirmed experimentally. By these means, the system EER can reach up to 3.2, which meets the demands of National standards of China.
