AMENDING ALGORITHM FOR WIND FARM PENETRATION OPTIMIZATION BASED ON APPROXIMATE LINEAR PROGRAMMING METHOD

The calculation of wind farm penetration limit by dynamic simulation has three aspects: supposing a wind farm penetration level, testing the system’s stability,correcting the wind farm penetration level. As the manual correction of wind farm penetration is hard to reach the limit, this paper introduces an optimal method based on approximate linear programming for calculating the wind farm penetration. This method gets the objective function and constraint function approximately linearized first, then it uses the linear solution to find the accurate solution. The results on New England 39 system have demonstrated that this method is rapid, precise and effective.
