A development platform for complex data acquisition system

With the advancement of technology, data acquisition expanding range of applications, increasing the signal type, complex processing algorithms and the increasing demands of speed and accuracy of collected data acquisition has become the major problem areas. By analyzing the complex data acquisition common features to design a high-speed general-purpose complex data acquisition development platform that can be applied to most of the complex data acquisition application is the purpose of writing this paper. In this paper a conceptual model for generic development platform oriented toward complex data acquisition system is proposed. Then the hardware platform and the software platform are designed. The widely used and highly efficient embedded system is chosen as the hardware platform. The software platform includes application software which offers a satisfying solution for most measuring, processing tasks and secondary development software which is a powerful technology that allows software integrators and application uses to customize and automate the application software. The developed program is used for the purpose of real-time state parameters transmission and storage, dynamic graphical display, modification of the interactive system. The application allows control of a variety of hardware, ranging from straightforward, continuous data streaming of a few channels to multi-rack based data acquisition instruments providing millions of data points per second. Finally an application example is used to demonstrate the development platform's versatility and practical value.
