Proposes a systematic methodology for performing analysis on material performance and deterioration. This methodology serves for programming effective conservation and maintenance interventions, which in this case, uses a digitized database to organize the gathered information. The Municipal Market of Pyrgos, Greece, is used as sample case study to illustrate the methodology, which includes (in detail) an eight-step parametrical analysis that can be summarized as: documentation, identification of architectural units, testing, and determining the state of conservation. The notion behind this eight-step parametrical analysis is the development of an informational tool to systematize vital information, in other words, to provide a tool for identifying the needed information and the related analytical method. In particular, this tool is useful for the conservation management of historic buildings that contain incompatible materials that need to be de-restored.
