Providing intelligent tutoring within a gaming-simulation environment for learning

From a pedagogical point of view, Computer-Based Training techniques are proving to be as efficient as other manual teaching methods. Intelligent Tutoring Systems, a pioneering application of Computer-Based Training, and Gaming-Simulation, a game-based simulation tool for teaching and learning, are both substantive research and development areas which cross a multitude of disciplines and have the potential for mutual enhancement that would increase the pedagogical effectiveness of the latter. However, very little has been reported on to this effect. This paper examines possible roles for an Intelligent Tutoring System within a Gaming-Simulation Environment
