Cross-layer QoS Routing Algorithm Based on the Node Occupation Degree Control for Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, a cross-layer QoS routing is proposed based on the node occupation degree control for wireless sensor networks. Firstly, a Node Occupation Control AODV algorithm is proposed, called NOC AODV, which using a node occupation-degree to avoid the impropriated nodes in the multi-tasking environment for wireless sensor networks. In the algorithm, according to judging the value of the node occupancy degree, it can determine the node’s action in the WSN. Secondly, improving the algorithm of the NOC AODV, design of a cross-layer algorithm called CR AODV which can be used in large scale. In the algorithm, it judges the busyness node with MAC information. Through the completion of the judgment to busyness nodes, the algorithm can reduce the average latency, balance the load of network, reduce the hot spots, take full advantage of the nodes capability, and improve the capacity of the network transmission. The experiments indicated that the CR AODV algorithm is effectively, and prolong the life cycle of WSN.
