Numerical Simulation on Influence of Riser Heat Preservation Conditions on Solidification Process of Steel Ingot

Based on the casting simulation software,the solidification process of steel ingot under different riser heat preservation condition was simulated respectively with 0,50,100,200,300,500 mm heating agent thickness in order to optimize the casting process of steel ingot.The simulated results show that,with the increase of heating agent thickness,the final solidified area is apt to move to the riser and "V"-shaped opening increases gradually;when the heating agent thickness achieves to some value,the shrinkage cavity in the ingot is no longer change;300 mm heating agent thickness is the best value.
