Time-delay systems : stability and performance criteria with applications

This new work emphasizes the new techniques in stability analysis, an important area in which closed form expressions for cost functionals may be used. It presents new techniques and concepts in the domain of complex variables for calculation of ISE which make possible the analytical design of controllers, including adaptive controllers. New techniques for stability analyzers for linear systems with one delay, or two or more equal and commensurate delays (related by integers) are explained, and there is a unique review of closed form evaluation of functionals for time delay systems and its application to analytical control of time delay systems. There is a detailed treatment of the effects of small or large differences in a plant and its model, called MISMATCH problems, treated in an explicit way to deepen understanding of predictor control. Methods give improved understanding of 3-term control for process control, and the book offers design methodology for other control techniques. There is discussion of exact and approximate methods, with comparisons, including Pade techniques, and discrete simulation and control of time delay systems.
