System for collecting traffic information using bus and method for collecting traffic information using thereof

PURPOSE: A traffic information collecting system by using a bus and a traffic information collecting method by using the same are provided to collect a high quality traffic information with a low cost at a wide area by complexly utilizing a global positioning system(GPS), a vehicle mounting device, and a position locator. CONSTITUTION: A traffic information collecting system by using a bus includes a position locator of station and/or, an open and close monitoring device, a vehicle mount device, a wireless base station and a traffic information collection center. The position locator of station and/or is installed at a station to output the position information data. The open and close monitoring device measures the open time of the door of the line bus. The vehicle mount device is installed on the line bus and outputs the information of stop time at the station and the information of door open time. The wireless base station receives the information of stop time at the station and the information of door open time and transmits the information of stop time at the station and the information of door open time to the traffic information collection center. And, the traffic information collection center calculates the loss time due to the station pass of the line bus and the traveling speed of the bus.
