Performance improvement of OLSR protocol by modifying the Routing Table construction mechanism

Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is one of the efficient Table-Driven-Protocols in Mobile Ad-Hoc networks. In this paper, we have analyzed the process of Routing Table construction in the OLSR protocol. We have also compared the OLSR protocol with the DSDV protocol. The Route construction mechanism in the OLSR protocol is complex & time consuming as compared to other proactive routing protocols. After Analysis, we have revealed that, somehow the complexity in constructing routing tables can be reduced by merging some of the tables. We have proposed some modifications to the OLSR Protocol in terms of table maintenance, which can result into an improved OLSR protocol in comparison to the existing one.
