Experimental study on double-layer ETFE foil cushion

At first,series of uniaxial tensile tests were conducted for ETFE foil specimen,and the mechanical property parameters were calculated from the stress-strain curve,including the yield strength,the yield strain,the tangent and the secant Young's modulus.A particular glue was made of two epoxy with volume fraction 1∶1,as make the strain gauge glued on ETFE surface together,and the composite gauge was calibrated.The advanced experiment set-up was designed and developed,which mainly consists of loading simulation,ETFE cushion,pneumatic control and measure system.The experiments have been carried out successfully for ETFE cushion with wind pressure and wind suck at normal service state and limit state.The geometry form were measured un-contactly through 3D scanner.The experimental results were compared and verified with numerical results.The presented work is valuable to design of ETFE cushion.
