THE MATERIAL COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE FEATURES OF SOFT SOIL AND SCHEME DESIGN OF REINFORCEMENT QIANWAN PORT IN QINGDAO

The low natural strength and low bearing capacity of soft subsoil of Qianwan port in Qingdao lead to its large deformation and long-time stable process of foundation. So the soil treatment must be done to satisfy the demand of design. A reinforcement scheme for the subsoil treatment “method of plastic drain well” was put forward in this paper on the basis of large quantities of field tests, monitoring results and analysis of the deformation mechanism of soil. According to the physic-mechanical indices, the length, interjoist and arrangement style of plastic drain well, as well as the construction schedule were calculated. The degree of consolidation of foundation was estimated and finally the best scheme was determined.
