Power distribution in RES-Diesel autonomous power system with doubly fed induction generator for reduction of fuel consumption

A renewable energy system RES with cooperation of diesel driven autonomous doubly fed induction generator is presented in the paper. The analysis takes into consideration the power system, where the main power source is a variable speed diesel engine, which operates in full range of power consumption. The RES source is used for diesel engine fuel reduction. The paper presents power distribution between the two sources during supply of isolated load. Reduction of fuel consumption by the use of variable speed operation of diesel engine is also discussed. The issue of energy storage ESt cooperation with RES- diesel power generation system is evaluated. Simulation results of described system are obtained using PSIM simulation software and they are presented in the paper.
