Distributed synchronization control of complex networks with communication constraints and random controller failures

The synchronization control for a class of discrete-time complex networks with communication constraints and random controller failures is investigated in this paper. The hierarchical control framework is proposed consisting of distributed controllers in the upper-layer and the target plants in the lower-layer. Due to the communication constraints in the upper-layer, the strategies such as measurement size reduction and transmission rate reduction are introduced. To capture the practical system more closely, the random controller failure problem is also addressed. Based on the switched system approach, a sufficient condition is obtained such that the tracking error system is exponentially stable in the mean-square sense. The controller gains are determined by solving an optimization problem. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed results is illustrated by a simulation example.
