Portable CME: Continuing Medical Education on Hand-held Computers

It is often difficult for physicians and other medical professionals to find time in their busy schedules to read, keep up-to-date with the medical literature and earn CME credits. The world of computing and medical data is now moving toward portability. Downloading CME programs from the Web for use on personal digital assistants opens new opportunities for learning. Making CME programs available on handheld computers allows physicians to review new clinical material at their own convenience while commuting on a bus or train, waiting for a meeting or between patients. This is a demonstration project for determining a viable process for offering CME on a hand-held computer.
