AQS security scores: What do they represent? A study in construct validation

Dans un echantillon de 129 bebes hollandais de 15 mois, la securite de l'attachement a ete evaluee a la fois avec le Q-set d'Attachement (AQS; Waters, 1995) et avec une version courte de la Situation Etrange d'Ainsworth (SSS en anglais). Les bebes classifies comme etant secures utilisant la SSS avaient des scores AQS bien plus eleves qu'en particulier les enfants insecures et desorganises. Au niveau item AQS, les bebes desorganises etaient decrits comme etant bien plus non-cooperatifs, difficiles, et en colere par rapport aux bebes secures. Lorsque la securite, evaluee en utilisant la SSS, fut controlee, la qualite observee du comportement interactif parental, l'ego-resilience parentale, les hauts niveaux d'orientation dans l'exercice du bebe et de plaisir, et des niveaux bas de tendance a la colere du bebe ont chacun ete trouves pour expliquer les portions importantes et uniques de la variance dans les indices de securite AQS. Le set de caracteristiques apparemment peu favorable lie a de faibles indices de securite AQS suggere que de tels indices peuvent predire des problemes ulterieurs de developpement.
