Adaptive antenna arrays for the reverse link of CDMA cellular communication systems

The use of an antenna array in the reverse link of cellular communication systems is proposed. A recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm is used to adjust the weight coefficients of the array. The improvement in performance is quantified by comparison with the omnidirectional antenna system using realistic simulations.
