Hazardous chemicals logistics is closely related to the safety of people's life and property as well as ecological environment. Once accidents happened, the damage would be catastrophic. The current monitoring on logistics procedure mainly focuses on the vehicles, ignoring monitoring on vehicle drivers and chemical itself, which is not comprehensive to monitor the safety of logistics. This paper proposed a monitoring system for hazardous chemicals based on Internet of things to monitor the status and condition of vehicles, drivers and goods in real time to regulate the safety problem and prevent the accidents from happening effectively. The monitoring system integrated technologies including GIS, GNSS, RFID, communication, face recognition and sensor technology to realize real-time and multi-parameter monitoring on hazardous chemicals logistics. The design plans of terminal hardware structure and software system as well as the system architecture were introduced in this paper.
