Utilization Of Hexadecimal Numbers In Optimization Of Balinese Transliteration String Replacement Method

The application of information technology in the Balinese script transliteration is still a little found in the application store. This study aims to apply modern information technology to preserve the culture in Bali, which has the rules of writing that come from the correct data source. The rules for writing Balinese scripts that are complicated make Balinese script increasingly abandoned. Balinese script that has several types of rules such as Gantungan, Gempelan, PasangPageh, numbers, punctuation marks, and is divided into AksaraWianjana, AksaraWréastra, Modre, and AksaraSwalalita. This research will discuss the application of the string replacement method, in the transliteration process of the Latin text into Balinese script. The string replacement method will be developed using hexadecimal numbers as each character’s unique code, optimization is needed to avoid the similarity between the rules of each Balinese character consisting of 217 Balinese characters, which results in misinterpretation in Balinese script writing. The test data in this study were taken from the institution preservation of Balinese Galang Foundation Bali culture, and the official Balinese dictionary in Indonesia with the transliteration of Bali script.
