Loop-to-loop pulsed electromagnetic field wireless signal transfer

The pulsed-field signal transfer between a transmitting and a receiving loop is investigated by means of a model based on the electromagnetic reciprocity theorem of the time-convolution type. The transmitter loop excitation is modeled as causal pulses characterized by a reduced number of parameters. Analytic expressions are provided for the generator voltage in the equivalent Thévenin circuit describing the performance of the receiving loop for arbitrary values of mutual distance and orientation of the loops. Numerical examples illustrate the intricate manner in which the received signal is related to the signal to be transferred. Applications are found in the design of digital, wireless interconnects.
