A catalytic surface reaction model

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to describe a two-dimensional catalytic surface reaction between two reactants, M and P n : P n + nM → nPM , where P n is a polymer consisting of n identical atoms and M is a monomer. A classical example is the oxidation of carbon monoxide. In this case, M = CO and P n = O 2 . We will consider the case where n , the polymer size, is large. Detailed proofs will be given in a forthcoming paper.
